Some are predicting somewhere between $3-$5Million. I guess around that number. It was a no expense spared full restoration. The car has won just about every award there is - Bloomington, Meadowbrook, etc. plus it's documented history....it'll be BIG Bucks at B-J.
VERY NICE. THEY SHOULD DO ONE ON ALL MODELS. LIKE MYSELF, I AM WONDERING HOW MANY FRC WERE MADE IN 2000. WHAT I HERE IS 2090 WERE MADE AND 960 OF THOSE WERE ZO6s. TRUE OR FALSE.

False - there were 2090 FRC's made in 2000. The Z06 wasn't introduced until the 2001 model year.
Here's a great source of information on ALL Corvette model years....

Big Time Bro!! I was being cautious with my #'s. I believe I recall somewhere in one of the episodes it was said the car was purchased unrestored for 300k or they put 300k into the project. Someone please chime in and correct/verify my statement.

The owner's target budget for the restoration was $300,000. I don't recall if they ever said what it actually ended up costing. I was nodding off during the show. I know, I know, go ahead, excommunicate me, ha, ha.
I wish they would have shown more of the restoration process on the '67. It never ceases to amaze me how people can take an old car that's completely trashed like that and make it so beautiful.
It is amazing, true, but anything is possible if you have enuff money to throw at it.

Could it be the most ever? lotta people out there with stoopid amounts of $$$$$$$$$. I liked the last auction, a guy paid $175K+ for a GT 500 Mustang (factory race car), and you can get the same car out of the Ford catalog for $150K. And I'm sure the guy who bought it won't even fit in the seat!

FYI www.speedtv.com search speed "The Last Sting Ray" for replays. All times Eastern, 11/30-8:30pm, 11/30-12:30am, 12/1-8:30am, 12/7-8:30am, 12/7-8:30pm, plus 7 more listings. No copies for sale yet,but they do have over 200 DVD/VIDS
I watched the whole show and enjoyed most of it. I agree more of the restoration could have been shown but it seemed to be a three hour commercial to me for this one car. He is trying to hype the car into the bidding stratosphere when perhaps it should not be there. There are a lot more significant cars out there than the last 1967 car. How about the last ZR-1 or last C-3, etc? Granted, great promotion. The car should be allowed to bring what it does without all the hype. My .02.
Saw I my self and started to see if it was on again. Just to let you know, go in on speedtv.com under The Last Sting Ray. The times for the next showings are listed. I will record it this time.

I brlieve that the main reason for this show, was because the 63-67 Sting Ray's were thought of as a special car in the Corvette line. Not saying that all Corvette's are not special cars, it is just something about those years.
I have owned not only a 66 big block (first year for the 427) but also a 77 (last year for the tunnel back) an 85 (first year for tuned port), and now my 01. I have loved them all, but that 66 big block was something special.
Remember the 68 was not known as a String Ray or Stingray. That name did not come back until 69-76.
As for the show, I had a special interest in it, as there were a few of my club cars in it. The red Grand Sport for one, and a few in later shots. Also the NCRS head judge that signed the certificates was the president of or club when I first joined back in the mid 80's.
What a great show! I've recorded it and plan to watch it over and over.
There was something magical about the '63 to '67 vette. To me that same feeling came when the C5 came out. No other vette comes close.
Those two generations are the best!
Really a good show! Great big block exhaust sounds! Saw the car in person a couple of months ago at Pro Team in Napolean Ohio, absolutely stunning in person! WOW
