What do you prefer, your stock wheels or aftermarket and why?
I see some wheels on Vette's IMO just don't compliment the car. Then on the other hand, I think GM should have went bigger and wider with the stock wheels.
I like the stockers on my 2004. I just cant bring myself to spend the money to get new rims when I like the ones that are already on it. I really dont like that wangon wheels though. (sorry guys)
I know what you mean when you say that some wheels just dont compliment the corvette....I have seen a few running around Tucson that IMO make the car look worse rather than better. To each his own I guess.
I have my stock rims on the 04 vette, but really like some of the options. Would buy some OEM Z06 rims if I could. Also like the CCW 505's - but would like upgraded brakes if I went with those. Lot's of good options, just costs alot of money.........

I like the looks of the aftermarket wheels - just so many options to choose from and you can personalize the car to where it doesn't look like the rest.
I don't think there is a better looking wheel made than the 2000-2004 factory wheel. The only improvement which I see would be chrome which was not offered as an option. But I took care of that by purchasing reproduction factory wheels in chrome. Problem solved!

Aftermarket - the stock wheels, whether they are the thinspokes, the Z06 wheels or the wagon wheels....well, been there done that.
There is no single appearance mod that one could make that will change the personality of the vehicle like a set of custom wheels. Now - that's not to say that a lot of the custom wheels look good on the Vette. Just yesterday I saw a set of 20/22's on a C6 that look like they belonged on an Escalade.
Personally - when I bought new wheels - I was looking for something "different". To my wife - all of the five spoke wheels that I would show her - regardless of who made them or the finish, her response was - "they look just like the one's you already have." At first I thought she was nuts - but after a while I realized that there are just so many variations of the five spoke theme, and they all basically look like that.
I'm not a fan of the aftermarket reproduction wheels, whether they are C6 or C5 - regular or Z06 for either generation. Sorry, don't mean to offend the thousands of folks that have them - but I just don't really like them.

I like the stockers just enough to make it impossible to justify spending the money it takes to make the switch. I like custom wheels, too -- on someone elses car. I like my polished thin spoke rims just fine...

While also adding the extra benefit to upgrade both wheel and tire applications to your specific performance needs and goals.
While I like the stock wheels on vettes, even wagon wheels like mine originally had, I like the personalization touch of custom wheels. I am on my third set of wheels for my vette HRE 547's and don't tell my wife but I'm sure they won't be the last set on this car!!!!!!
I just put my Y2Ks back on for the winter and now they make my car look like chit. It's only been a day and I wanna put my gloss black iForged Aeros back on.
