Interior Mod Question: carbon fiber dash?
I'm toying with the idea of doing the carbon fiber dash thing in my black 99 coupe. The exterior paint looks as good as it did when the car was new (thanks to a chemical engineer friend of mine who has a unique process that involves no wax and no abrasion), but the interior is starting to show a little age.
But from what I can tell, these carbon fiber dash components that the vendors sell are simply "stick ons." They are not replacement parts for the original dash components.
Am I missing something here? I'm not interested in paying $400 for a bunch of vinyl stick on stuff. I'm looking for actual replacement parts, kind of like the carbon fiber fuel rail covers they sell for engine mods.
Can anybody tell me if they've found actual replacement parts?

Here's an address at Vette Essentials that may help you. Note that these are actual replacement parts and not the stick-on stuff you're trying to avoid:

The stuff VE sells is awesome - going to run you some serious money, but quality does not come cheap.
