I am in process of buying some headers for my C5. I see that LG is pretty popular within the forum. I was wondering if someone would enlighten me. What is the difference with the LG street series and the LG Pro headers? I would like to also get the hi-flow cats with the system. I already have a Corsa exhaust, what should I get? Money is itching my hands. Thanks.
Street - 2-1/2-inch diameter after the headers (which are 3" in Street and pros) and a different x-pipe. Build quality is just as high as the Pros.
Pros - custom x-pipe and 3" pipe all the way to the exhaust (muffler) connection.
In deciding between the 2, if you're going to keep your head/cam stock, then save your money and go with the Streets. If you expect to change these out down the road, go ahead and get the Pros.
It's really just how much money you want to spend. I went with the Streets with x-pipe and cats, and the total cost shipping incl. was $1235 (that was during a special they were running shortly after they came out). I installed them myself in about 6 hours.
Hope this helps, good luck with your search. I'm sure others will chime in with their opinions as well.

Here's a link to LG Motorsports. (Check out some of the dyno results). Looks like a 5-10 HP difference between the Streets vs. Pros. I have the Streets with cats and Corsa Pace exhaust and love 'em. http://lgmotorsports.com/catalog/index.php
Had my Dynatech Supermaxx's installed by 21st Century Musclecars in Addison back in August. Bolted up to Corsa Tourings. Couldn't be happier with the workmanship of the headers and the install. FWW Dynatech's bolt together with super heavy flanged connections whereas the LG's use slip-fit type pipes. Some say this style makes the LG's more prone to leaks.
I like the LG's, they make a great product...But I'm a Kooks man for life after I saw the guy who did my mods dyno test them on the same car Vs the Kooks. The Kooks had 9 RWHP & 5 Lbft over the LG's. Every car responds different though. Kooks specializes In only headers since 1962 I believe. This comparo was with 1-7/8" Headers.
I have the 1-7/8" with 3"Kooks X-Pipe/Hi-flow cats and they are great! *

I would imagine the car has to be on a lift, or how high did you have to raise the front end?
Does the engine have to be moved/unbolted/lifted to install the headers?

Thank you,

I lifted the car about 30 inches in the front (with multiple jack stands on 6x6 blocks). The driver's side header slides in from below, the passenger side from above.
Both went in with minimal wiggling. The only thing I unbolted on the passenger side was the valve covers (and coil packs) and the coil packs and alternator on the driver's side (see pics).
Here's a nice side-by-side
And here's the finished product.
