Way back in the dark ages I remember there was a supporting vendor that sold the C5 service manuals for less than MSRP. Can anybody point me in the right direction?
Is the service manual different for a C5 Z06 than for a Coupe or Convertible? My apologies in advance for a repeat question.
Fred Beans (Supporting Vendor) is the cheapest for "new" when I did my search. If I remember right it was $124.95 shipped to my front door. (3) book set for my 2000 FRC. I saw used sets go for more than that on e-bay when they were offered. Hope this helps.

.....but you might also want to post a WTB on the Parts Forum and keep and eye out for members selling them. Thats where I picked mine up for much less than $100.00
You can buy the manuals from Helm Inc. Even though more expensive, I strongly suggest the DVD. It is networkable and you can put it in one computer and run it from others. The most important feature by far is the hyperlinks. When using the paper, they send you all over the place to get other info. Jump to section x then come back go to section y, etc.... With the DVD you get to link to other pages, hit back and come right back.
Also, if you own more than one GM vehicle, the DVD comes with all of the Service Manuals from 1998 to 2006. I have not touched the paper manuals for the Corvette or Suburban since I bought the DVD for the GTO. Will never go back to paper.
I'm gonna give away my secret. Go over to the C6 Wanted to Buy forum. Many of the people who made the mistake of going from a C5 to a C6 have no more use for their C5 manuals. I snagged a real good deal over there on a set that was never even opened and still in the cellophane. Good luck!
HeadHunter1.. thanks for sharing.
that is my learning of the day...
roughly how much more is the DVD?
That is the rough part. $400. PM me if you want the location to buy it since it is not a forum vendor. These are the official manuals from GM. It becomes more cost effective if you own more than one GM vehicle. In my case, I have three, makes the price easier to swallow.
