I recently returned from a 6000 mi road trip and a few days later, I noticed that the driver's side carpet was very wet. I remembered that I had hit "something" laying in the middle of the road. I stopped and checked under the car as best I could and saw no obvious damage, so I continued without incident. Today, I got under the car and discovered a small gash in the fiberglass pan about 4" in length. I am almost certain that this is the source of the wet carpet. My question is does anyone have any recommendations as to how to fix it without full replacement of the pan. I have an extended warranty, but do not think it would cover road damage. Thanks, Rick
Mine had something similar when I bought it. I cleaned the area well and filled it in with body seam sealer. I used a plastic bondo spreader to push it in and smooth it out. I don't know if it would have leaked or not, but I wanted it sealed just in case. I drive in the rainy NW and have not had any leakage so far.
