Superb how-to write-up. One of the best I've ever seen, and yours is easily 200% better than most instruction sheets created by aftermarket vendors (you know who you are).
Smart!
But I think you have to add a custom air scoop because the air filter will catch warm air from the radiator in traffic jam
I thought the same thing! My first thought was "I think this is a warm-air intake." Even at modest speed, wouldn't you be breathing warm air from the radiator? I'm honestly not sure, and it's kinda hard to tell from the photos how much room is in there.
I'm asking because it looks soo good, and seems better protected from water while washing your car. I want to believe it produces the same difference as the zip tie mod, but I'd love to see a dyno sheet to confirm.

I think IF you were stuck and the rad got warm enough to heat air under the shroud the fan(s) would probably be running and pulling cooler air from below. Doesn't look like an issue to me.

Very unique solution and great write-up! I took a slightly different approach by adding some additional inlets to the stock airbox and drilling some fresh air openings in the bottom of the fan shroud.

I did mine a while back - it doesn't see much driving in the wet. I was surprised to find that it doesn't pick up that much trash. The last time I had the filter out for cleaning I fitted a piece of screen ahead of the filter to stop any big stuff from getting in
