Code shows this as a EVAP system small leak detected. My search found that this can sometimes be a gas cap leak, or hose leading to solinoid may be leaking.
OK so now what do I do? Sorry to sound like a tool but no question is a stupid one right...
How do I know if it is as somthing as easy as a new gas cap? Just go buy a new one and see if it resets?
Will it damage anything if I drive with this?
Do I need to reset the DTC codes? Im not sure what to do here and dont have a local dealer and/or shop that I know of to take it to.
It is a 2004 Automatic, 9,000 miles and I havent filled it up with gas for about a week and still have 1/2 a tank when the light just came on.
Thanks for any help!
2004 with only 9,000 miles should still be under warranty.
You say there is no dealer close to you - or no dealer you trust close to you? There are Chevy dealers everywhere.
Nonetheless, I'd determine warranty status and get to a dealer.
Edited to add that I think the "H" means historic. Reset the codes and see if it reappears. Check Tech section to clear codes.
The car's diagnostics system can determine if the gas cap has been left off or improperly installed. This is part of the car's evaporative emissions (EVAP) systems test. Remove and reinstall your gas cap carefully to insure it is correctly installed. When reinstalling, turn it to the right (clockwise) until it clicks. I turn mine until it clicks exactly 3 times. Reset the DTC code and see if this corrects the problem. If not, the seal on your gas cap may not be sealing properly and the gas cap may need to be replaced.

Good luck with the fix!
It is probably something really small like this. Give this a shot, I bet it works.
