Default Available CNC Service?

I've got a set of bran new LS6 (243 casting) Cylinder Heads. I would like to have them fully ported and polished.

My questions are:

Can i pay a company (preferably supporting vendor, ) To CNC the heads for me?

Would cost of CNC service + cost of shipping be cost effective?

Will that be more expensive than a professional Hand P&P job? (Quoted at almost $1k already...)

Some say CNC doesn't do quite as good a job as Hand finishes, but it's still better than stock right?

Thanks,
Dan

So I talked to the folks at TSP and they offer a CNC service.

$750 to fully CNC port & polish, Competition Valve Job, and assembly.

I'll probably buy their CamPkg2 with the 228R cam and let them know that when i call in the order so they can assemble the head with the new hardware. The Rep also mentioned a new discounted Christmas Pricing on the Cam package. Like $25 off - not a ton, but still good.. heh.

So for $750+675 I'll recieve my CNC Stage 1.0 Full P&P LS6 head, a 228R Cam, and equiped with the PRC Double Spring Kit.

Sounds like a pretty good deal...

One thing a hand p&p CANNOT provide is consistency from port to port, and this is what really helps an engine develop good power.

Our CNC's at the place I work hold tolerances in the .0002" range. I have the LPE machined heads and they are modeled off of the original ones that John did years ago. I have seen the flow numbers on these from port to port. No hand p&p could possible come close for the money.
