Default Push & Pray

I have 1200 mi on my new C6 since I bought it new in July.
Every time I get in & go to start it I never know if it will start or not.
The gauges go on and nothing happens. I wait 15 seconds (like the manual suggests) and then try again. Has anyone else had this problem?

Sorry, no push button starter on my C5.
The mods will have to move this to C6Gen.

This is the C5 forum but to answer your question, Yes! This was happening to C6s in my club and it turned out they were getting a "Can't read fob" or something like that on the DIC, and the start button did nothing ('cause the car couldn't recognize the "fob") GM techs were involved and the outcome was each member that had this problem had their "cell phone" plugged into the 12v power supply port (cigar lighter) this inacted a radio freq. interference and the car couldn't see or hear the fob. I think the guys said if (while sitting in the car) if they locked then unlocked the doors it would start. But the "fix" was to unplug the cell phone charger. Hope this helps.

Nah, we use the key that came with ours.

But if you guys with the new C6's keep posting your questions over here about those start buttons, you probably won't see us joining you over there very soon.

NO KEY!! that's just wrong. Maybe a new universal remote would work.

Push, pull or drag that thing into the dealer's service department and make 'em fix it. We are saddled with these old cars that have an old fashioned key. In fact mine is so old that it has a crank that I have to turn in the front - behind the license plate holder...C6's don't have those either (license plate holders)....

Back whe I was just a teenager, I re-wired my '68 Chevy pick-up with a push button starter button... Just like we had on an old '53 Chevy pick-up... from the FACTORY!!

Technology has come such a LOOOONNGGGG way!!

Oh yeah, some of the mid 50's pick-ups and trucks had a starter pedal on the floorboard that we used to heel-toe with the gas pedal... Yes, really...

After reading these posts, I think MYRE06C6 will never make the mistake of posting a C6 question in the C5 section again

Regardless, good luck with the fix
