Help removing the AC Compressor

Help removing the AC Compressor

I want to remove the AC Compressor to have it chromed, but according to my GM manuals it says I have to remove the water pump. I dont want to have to do that because everything is chromed and that would create a big mess AGAIN draining the coolant. Anyone have any tips at on an easier way to remove it would be much appreciated.

I did mine this summer and the only way was to remove the water pump. There isn't enough room to go any other way that I know of.

I think you're going to have to remove the waterpump....I mean otherwise there might be enough room if you remove your exhaust and passenger side head.

Replaced mine too a month or so ago... had to remove the water pump. It teased me, sure looked like it would come out without removing the water pump.
