Default Part Two 6pt Wolfe Roll Cage Install

Day one of the install for those that have not visited the ripping apart a perfect Vette to put in some well needed safety equipment
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1565160

Day two went so much smoother than day one of the install. Today GotJuice? cut the rear bars 1 3/8" so they would fit to the rear hatch area and more welding was required

Welding the rear bars

Drivers Side Swing out bar installed

Passanger Side Swing out bar installed

See were some of the welds on the main cage were made

Drivers side carpet test fit

What is left on this job now? We test fit all of the steel reinforcement plates to insure the cage and the swing outs fit like they should. So this bar is a modified Z06 cage confirmed today by GotJuice? from the individual he got it from, this is the reason for all the modifications to make it fit. Next is to clean up the cage and get it painted before we do the final install. Also going to get my drivers side bolster fixed, or I may order some new seat skins, but removing the seats is a snap compared to the work that transpired in the last 2 days. Another benefit of the roll cage was I had the dreaded rocking seats and that will be no more

While GotJuice? was busy welding and drilling holes I put on some bling , chrome screws around the entire car 46 of them and here is one shot of them that go behind the head lights and also the Black Cherry front markers are installed waiting for an evening for complete night shots of the entire blackout kit I got last month and never finished as my car had a power steering pulley break first and while this was changed was a great time to put in the roll bar

EDIT to correct typo, TRUNK not TRUCK

I have been interested in installing a 4 point bar in mine for some time. Can you supply some photo details and verbage about cutting through the fiberglass panels to gain acess to weldable steel framing, both on the bulkhead behind the seats, and in the TRUNK area pan???? Pretty Please!

What kind of clearance or cantact is there between the glass/plastic body shell and steel at the bulkhead, and the main frame rails in the trunk area?

LOOKING GOOD!!!!!! Nice install, and a great adddition to the car.
Jennifer

I will do my best to be out at the mechanics when the roll bar goes for the final install and get some close up shots of the holes drilled into the floor. Thanks to everyone else who has posted support as this safety equipment has been in the works since summer, just wanted winter to arrive before I parked the car for awhile, though we drive year around here in Texas
