I have paint chips all along the lower sides and the front end, my question is what do I use to get rid of em? A paint job is out of the question. Also, my 98 has no garage so I have to use a cover.
We had strong winds the last week and the poor car was filthy the day after I washed it, mind you, I had put the cover back on 2 hours after washing and drying it. Looked like I had been off-roading it Is there a better cover to use? I have a Wolf car cover that I liked until that happened.
I have heard a lot of good things about the "Langka" paint chip and deep scratch repair process. I think if you go to their website they even have a video to watch. Just google langka. I think it's like 30-40 bucks.
I want to get the same system but luckily I have a DD that I can practice on.
My coupe's black. I've been using the black Turtle Wax. A product for chips and scratches. Comes in other colors. Sort of takes the edge off of imperfections that jump out at you.
If you will do a search in the car care section on Rock Chips or Rock Chip Repair, you'll get a lot of information. Although you won't make them "like new" you can do a decent job so that you shouldn't see them from more than a foot or two. Good luck.

theres a company that sells custom touch up paint with a special formula like lanka that smooths the paint and only leaves the paint in the chip, the demos looks insane, i think it's called drchip google it, if u cant find it pm me and ill look around, this looks like the best stuff ive seen yet but i havent had time to order any yet..
I used a system called Final Touch at the beginning of the year. I think the website is touchup123.com. It wasn't a complete solution but it did make the chips less noticable.

Obviously repainting the panels would be the best bet. I would think that trying to individually fix them is not only going to take a tremendous amount of time and effort, but will in all probability look very bad, but it may be worth a try if you just can't afford to repaint the car right now. If you do try this, let us know how it turns out. I'm sure others are in the same situation.
If It were me I would just have the front end & panels painted. That's what I had done after I made the mistake of driving In the Winter the first year I owned the Vette. I also ordered and Installed Body Color front & Rear Fender Guards. They seem to help alot I know going this route Is expensive but It needed to be done. Now that I hardly ever drive In the Winter my Vette still looks brand new.
**I also was thinking of getting the color matching Bra but I don't really like the looks of It, & I figured that If I don't drive In the Winter It would be fine & It has been so far.
