I found this "Bolink" brand when I was into serious Radio Control. It can be found at R/C Hobby Shops. It's not so much the "sticky" as much as it is the material (not foam) that the sticky is bonded to. It has been holding my exhaust plate on since 2001 and is doing just fine.
Do you think that the tape that comes with the plate is good, that's what I used, should I take it off and get some 3M?
The tape that comes with it is not good at all. I originally used that one, then I noticed that my plate was a little crooked ,, I was able to just pull it off,, with no effort. Use that 3m brand the thick and gummy one. I also put big thick lines of silicone in the groves where the plate mounts to, as added bonus. This thing will never come off.
I tried to see if it might pull off or move and it did not. I cleaned the area well and wiped it down with the supplied alcohol swab, and made sure when appling it that it was striaght. I will go out now and try it again. It has not driven more then a few miles since it was installed about a week ago. I thought of using the 3M tape at first, but like a lot of people I'm gussing I was excited and in a hurry to see it on the Z. I probably should have gotten some 3M tape before receiving the plate
