i used to work at a ford dealership as a porter and drove the cars in for the mechanics, and i brought my vette in fro an oil change and there lift barely cleared for my car(not lowered yet)
I have 2 Rotary A10i twin post lifts in my shop plus a Rotary drive on and a lower vette will only fit if you drive the vette up on boards like a 2X10 and the drive on I had the add a 3 foot extension to the ramps to keep the front spoiler from dragging on the c5 and C6.

Mine is slammed pretty hard. The shop I use has some 2x10 ramps that they use for mine. Mine has about 3" clearance and the lift requires about 4.5". It seems to work fine.

I have the same senario where I go. But "communication" is a MUST to catch a potential problem BEFORE it happens.

If you have a shop that you intend to take it to for repairs, best to go by first and see if the car will make it onto the lift. Better safe than having some damage done.
