Default Night light ???

I was driving along last night and noticed a yellow light coming down from the rear view mirror. Was wondering what this light is for.

This is not the two map lights.

Is there a way to turn it off?

Thanks

The Corvette has had this since the C4. It is there so you can see the shifter at night. There is no need to turn it off because it doesn't mess up your night vision.

I totally dig it. First thing I noticed when I went for my first night drive.

Gah! So it's supposed to be there?!

Phew, I thought I was going crazy. I kept trying to find the plastic trim peice that I thought was missing up there.

haha, thanks!

Actually my C3 has one also except it's located on the top of the center console right on the trailing edge of the dash pad.

I guess there's less need for it with an A4, but it still makes for some darn fine looking night photography... Bone stock sports car interiors don't get much sexier looking than this...

I have an aluminum shift pattern insert on the shift **** and the little yellow light sure makes it look good at night.

It's all in the owners manual. It's a great little light that doesn't annoy the driver.

It's just the shifter light. I'm sure you can pull the LEDs out or just put electrical tape over if if you don't like it...
