Has anyone seen the Doug Rippie Motorsports heat extractor hood?
I was wondering what type of quality these hoodsa are, and whether they were worth the $1095.00 price tag?
All your replies are appreciated.
Thanks.
Not sure about who makes the fascia, but it is funny that they chose to mold in the license frame. Try asking Randy from DRM--they built the car. Here are a couple more pics that might help.
That car looks sick... does he drive it on the street at all?
Yeah, actually he does. The LEOs don't like it so much, though. It recently went back to DRM for a freshening of the motor and new cam, which I think is at around 470 to the wheels now. The power is great, but the handling and braking are unreal. I took it for a quick spin recently...thank god for the harnesses, or I would've gone through the windshield.
Well guys,
it's sad to say Cobra4B is correct that these hoods are no longer available. I was also told that the mold for the hood had been cut into pieces by the manufacturer when DRM asked to have it shipped back.
I don't know if anyone out there would be willing to salvage the mold and ressurect this hood (maybe motor city could be persuaded to make a carbon fibre version), but I think there would be alot of interest.
IMHO I think that this hood maintains the original lines of the C5 better than any other heat extractor hood out there.
