That's probably not very far from the truth- at about 5-6k rpm. Although alot of guys who spent the big bucks for this "cold air" system will scream their protest, your probably better off cutting a 6"'x 8" hole in the stock air box and insert a K&N filter.
You probably get those .5-1 RWHP by adding a really really big wing/spoiler and putting lots and lots of Japanese aftermarket parts maker decals-whooo that's long oh and don't forget those fart cans
Just how does the Blackwing manufacture "cold air." What a JOKE!!!
they're called cold air intakes because they funnel the air directly from outside the car into the engine, compared to the extremely hot ambient temperature under the hood the outside air is cold. Colder air is more dense so your engine will produce more power.
I would bank on about 10 rwhp with a cold air intake, but that includes stuff like the zip-tie mod. Any cold air provision is going to help, and you're splitting hairs to compare them at that point. Good luck!
It seems that the Blackwing is simply a "warm air" underhood intake, meaning your mileage may vary but don't expect much.

Does anyone know what i can expect in rear wheels horse power gains with the blackwing cold air intake????

A BlackWing is NOT a cold air intake , is it? I would consider it a performance fitler, but not a cold air intake. Unless your thinking of a different BlackWing than me. It is no different that RIJVETTES suggests- cutting a hole in the stock air box.
I would consider the Vararam a cold air intake system, but not the BlackWing, and I have one on my car (BlackWing that is).

The BlackWing is a better filter, but out of the box is not a cold air intake. Folks have made surrounds for the BlackWing and cut opennings in the radiator shroud to make cold air systems.
Actually one of the vette mags did a test on the Blackwing and one other iair intakes and it showed that both intakes made around 15 or so hp when the engine was cold, but after engine got warm LOST what it gained plus a few more. That unless you plan to run with the hood off of the car you where better off running a true cold air system,( I think it was a Feb issue of either Vette or Corvette Fever, I get so many different mags sometimes I lose track). A true cold air system would be a system that pulls air directly from out side of the car like the Vara-Ram, the BPP Vortex, or the Callaway system.

that would SUCK! you put on the intake and LOSE hp? I have heard of that happening with some honda intakes.
