PM me your e-mail address and I will snap a few shots of the pinstripes on my car for you. Basically I put some on the mirrors, around the cove area and along the top edge of the rear fascia.
I have pinstripes around my coves and around the lower rear fascia. I go to a lot of car shows and I did it to be different. I have striped cars for 30 years and use 3M striping tape that can be removed whenever desired as well.
My C5 Coupe is Electron Blue with the Commemoritive Silver and Red hood, roof and rear deck stripes (from Mike btw) and the small pinstripes (1/32" dual stripes, silver and red) accent them very well.
They aren't everyones cup of tea, I realize that, but I could care less about what everyone else thinks about them. I always get compliments about them mainly because they are very subtle and blend well with the overall theme. There is nothing worse than pinstriping that screams LOOK AT ME due to the wrong color, wrong size or a combination of both.
I would post some pics but I have never been able to get a pic that shows them very well due to the small size of the pinstripes.
From: the GOCC are everywhere, even back from "band camp"
My Yukon, '65 El Camino and the Harley all have (real hand painted) pinstripes. The Yukon is very subtle, the Elky and Harley are done more in a Von Dutch style (way before the recent resurgence in his style). I think they look great, although they are not for everyone. Tastes vary, and as much as I like pinstipes I don't think they work on the C5 (and I would never ever use tape pinstripes unless I was vandalizing someone's car). The wide stripe kits at the site above look pretty nice though, and for stripes of that size the film stripes work. Plus if you don't like the look they can be removed. Do what you like.

Pinstripes are almost unheard-of on C5s for the reasons stated above. But, I love them and think that perhaps some things could be done.
There was a C6 at the recent Ultimate Vette Party in Tampa that had a very interesting treatment. Not quite "pinstripes", but something along those lines. Here're some pics, perhaps they will give you some ideas.
In general, I think the inspiration has to come more from flames or ribbons or other very "flowy" treatments rather than the traditional pinstripe themes which, as pointed out above, accentuate a line or edge. Since our cars are so wonderfully smooth and curvy, you have to go a different direction. I think this C6 is a beautiful example of that, using something ribbon-based. Think of flames or ribbons or flowing water, there are possibilities along those lines with those very flowing, organic shapes and lines.
That's more of a graphic than a pinstripe IMO, but interesting. I think a very thin painted pinstripe outlining the side coves would look nice, especially a color that looks neon/electric against the background (green against bright blue for instance).
Wolfie, where are you from? If nearby, we should get together. Notice the sig name? That's what I do, custom hand painted striping. I have done some C5's, including my own.

Hi Striper
We're a jillion miles apart. I live in Carlsbad, CA, near San Diego. If you can send me photo's, I would apreciate it. My email is don-kay@sbcglobal.net.
I've got silver pin strips on a pewter car so they are a little hard to spot. If you click on my sig there are 9 more pixs.
I checked your photos and it is difficult to see such a subtle color contrast but very interesting. Such as seeing faint gost flames. I can see them on the hood and on the side of the rear fender. In person I'm sure I would love the look.

Thank you. They DO look good to me ( and that's all that really matters ) and I do believe you would like them.
