Any way you can price a C5 bought one piece at a time, complete, at over the counter prices?

I think Popular Mechanics or someone similar did this about 10 years ago. I'm thinking it was for a Dodge minivan. The cost was somewhere around $200,000 if I remember correctly. I'd hate to build a C5 this way.

At over the counter prices, It would cost about 1.7Mil. considering the "tax" involved

In the early 1970s, such a study was done using a Chevy Impala with retail price of about $4,500. Building this car by ordering each part separately was over $20,000. So one can assume building a C5 part by part would be big bux!
