Let me first apologize as this may be long winded. Three months ago the wife says "the neighbor is selling their vette. & I thought about buying it for you for your b-day". Well nice thought but if I were to get another one, I would prefer to buy my own. Besides we would need to get rid of the Chrysler 300 and put you in something else with a backseat. She says how about a truck with a backseat. Now I sit up. What kind of truck? I want a big truck she says, one I have to climb up in to. Now I'm grinnin and thinkin, a big truck to haul crap & tow things. And then start looking for the right car. So off we went looking for her, sorry this is her words, not mine and not pc, redneck truck. Found just what I, I mean what she was looking for in no time. F-250, V10, loaded & lifted.
My turn. First I thought about an old Stingray. As I started to look I decided I did not want another project, nor did I want someone elses project. Money was of course a consideration and I knew enough to know that a C5 was in the range. That is where you all come in. I started to lurk. I read alot. One day I wanted to ask a simple question, so I joined the forum. Before I asked, I searched for an answer to my simple question, and found it. People asked what color, vert or coupe, stick or auto? Blah, blah , blah. Over & over I read " get the best car you can for the best dollar. Simple. or so I thought. But patience paid off and so my fellow members here it is thanks to you. A one owner stock 1999 white vert. with 13,250 miles. The previous owner put 4 new run flats on less than 500 miles ago. Seat covers and floor mats went on the day it came home from the dealer. Honestly this is not the exact car I had in mind, but it was definately the "best car for the dollar". You really would not beleive me if I told, so I won't.
So thank you wife, and thank you forum members. I'll still lurk, but maybe join in once in awhile. I know, what about pics? Well if I did all this correct there should be one in my profile. When my 10 year old shows me how to post more I will.
