I went to look at a 2001 vert, I took the car out for about 15mins. As I was bring the car back to park it I got a warning that the ABS and track control needed sevice, I assume it's in my best interest to walk away from this one?
The car has 87k on it. If I can get it for $18k even with the warning lights should I consider?

Reason: wrong sale info
Hi Keyo. I have an '03 coupe and she just hit the 20K mile mark on the odo. The other day, I got the same warning....thought, oh,no, have to get her checked out. Let her sit overnight in the garage, cranked her up today, drove her over 100 miles, and no lights, no warnings, no nothing. She ran like a Swiss watch, no problems. Sometimes I think the sensors/computers get a little bug in them, and after a "reboot," they seem to go away. I'm a bit worried about this happening again, but so far, no warnings. Good luck, and hope this reassures you some.

This is a big depends. There could be nothing wrong other than a few dirty grounds or loose connections. A little work on your part and the problems go away. It could also be one of the ABS brake system components which can cost a pretty penny. Why not insist the seller gets the car fixed before you purchase it? There are ways to verify it has been repaired. If you purchase without being repaired be sure to deduct at least $2K from the price to cover the cost of repairs at a dealer.
