Default Lowering question?

I got my car lowered with the zip lowering kit today. The back dropped a lot but had to put it up a little because the front only went 3/8" lower than where it was. (Which was all the way down on the stock bolts). Am I supposed to remove the front bolt completely? We cut the bushings off and inserted the smaller rubber guard that comes with the zip kit. It looks good where it is but I'd like to go a little more if possible.

Michael

If you do have to remove the front bolt, wouldn't you have metal touching metal?

You can remove the front bolts.

I would drive it a good 25-30 miles letting it settle first.
Make sure you like the ride ..

Good Luck

Wouldn't you have metal on metal at that point? Plus, if you do that I assume it drops a finite level? You can't fine tune it at that point?

I never removed mine all the way.. I know I used lowering bolts in the real. Dropping it arond 2" drove it.. and the ride was harsh.. so I raised it back up in the real about an 1"

There are a number of people who have removed the bolts completely. Some put some sort of polyurathane or rubber shim in there just to avoid the metal to metal contact. I've never heard of any sort of bad consequences doing it that way.

Drop a PM to England Green. That's what he did to his. He will probably tell you more than you'll ever want to know about it.

Just make sure that you get an alignment when you're done.

This how low mine went when lowering only with the bolts and still being able to leave the bolts in place.

Once it settled, there isn't much more than 3" road clearance, if that. I don't know how these fellas with their really slammed vettes manage to get around without scraping.

I agree. I dropped mine all the way on the bolts nad then I went out and bought lowering bolts for the back. They're still sitting in the shipping bag because I can't imagine driving it with it any lower. I can only imagine that the people who do it live in places like Florida where the land is flat as a board.
