That's it! It's a shock at first but with the curvature of the lid you can get a few items in there.

I just got a '99 FRC myself and noticed the same thing. But another question I have, is the only way to keep the lid closed with the key? That's how mine is and I dont see any other type of latch. Is this normal or is there something wrong with mine. (Sorry, not wanting to hijack your thread, just seemed like a similar question.)

Garage door opener, map, wallet, cell phone, etc. It makes you feel better if you call it an arm rest, with bonus storage. The things you don't need to reach, put under the HUGE storage compartments in the rear.

You've got something wrong, it should stay down when you close it. It should have a spring pulling down on it all the time. Maybe someone removed or installed the spring backwards.

I keep a note pad, pen, tire guage - and that's about it. Not much room for anything else.

Not a Snickers bar or anything that would melt.

Seriously, it gets pretty hot. I would not keep any electronics in there.

Default Snaps shut

Mine actually seems to snap shut. In fact, it takes a fairly strong tug to get it open and has a very positive "click" when I shut it! Good luck, Ron

Console may be small but your trunk is bigger than any other sports car around. I have a coupe and it holds a whole lot of stuff.

You'd be surprised,

I've got 6 CD's in slim jewel cases, my remote garage door opener, my EZ pass for tolls, cell phone, and a pack of tissues. That's more stuff than I keep in the beater.

I keep a pair of sunglasses in a hard case and a spare pack o' smokes, plus my garage door opener if I'm going to be someplace for a while.
