Any suggestions on the removal of a steering wheel. I've used the proper 3 prong tool and it just won't budge. Have tried to soak it overnight with product for frozen bolts and no luck-it won't budge. Short of using a breaker bar any suggestions that won't crack the wheel ($275 core charge) or another tool. Thanks.
I had the same problem when removing my steering wheel to install a VE wheel. Ended up taking my car to a local GM tech. He pulled the old wheel & installed the new wheel for $35.00. He said that my steering wheel was one of the hardest he's had to remove.
When I took mine off, I used the puller to put a good deal of tension on it but it would not break free. While under this tension, I used another mallet to shock the column and eventually it popped off.
