I have the 04's on my 01 and recommend them. Around $400.

Get the Bilstein sports for the same cost and better handling and dont mess with the 04 Z06 shocks.
Stock is not always better, especially with shocks.

Totally disagree for the following reasons: Read this post....
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...g+shock+tuning

see post #26. The 2004 shocks were EXHAUSTIVELY tested at the Nurburgring by Factory race car drivers and revalved and tuned accordingly. I ran Porsche cup bilsteins on my 944 Turbo for PRECISELY the same reason... Factory tuned, SPECIFICALLY for that EXACT model of car. Read some of the posts by the guys who have spent thousands of dollars on Penskes and Bilsteins, only to get lost in the whole mess of spring rates, static balance, dynamic balance, preload, rebound vs. compression damping etc... Trust me, in this case, the Factory got it SPOT ON.

Exactly!

That's why the Bilstein Sports or the C6 Z06 shocks are not the right choice for the best balanced performance on a C5 Z06.

Interesting...

So on a 03 Z06 for instance the opinions have it a Bilstein shock would be better than the stock 03 shock but an 04 Z06 shock is better than both.
