So, I just changed my rotors (got some drilled/slotted zinc coated rotors) and the old rotors are sitting on the floor of my garage. My friend said to keep them since they still had a lot of meat left and appeared pretty smooth, but I don't really want them.
Is there any reason I shouldn't just throw them in the recycle bin? I hate throwing things away, but I also hate clutter and can't come up with a reason to keep them?
I took my old ones to the county dump and put them in the scrap metal heap -- I doubted that the recycling guys would take them.
In any case, unless you really think you're going to reuse them, I say get them out of your garage -- otherwise you'll just be stepping over and around them for years and then you'll probaby just toss them 15 years from now when you move...

What does CF think?
1st you have to mic them to verify they are still within limits. If so then they can be turned and reused. If not they are garbage. You can not tell by "looking at them".
If they are good then you might be able to sell them however the shipping is probably more then they are worth. You can buy new from NAPA for about $25 each
Normally I would say toss them as I previously did, but I had a brand new rotor (dimpled and slotted) split. I had to wait three weeks for the new rotors just to arrive. So, I was without my car for about a month. If I would of had the stock rotor, maybe I would of put it on? Remember, sometimes you definitely get what you pay for!
Post them in the for sale section as "free" with local pickup. I've given away two full sets (Stock and Powerslots) to Forum members here in Central Florida.

Ok, I'll give it a shot. I'll post it in the parts section, but if anyone wants them in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, let me know.
