I am a new member and new to Corvettes. I was a big Chevy guy in the 70's had a 1968 camaro SS with few nice mods
But......Man oh man have i fallen in love with the C5.
I wanted Chevrolet to build this back in the 80's! When the 928 porsche was getting popular. They laughed at me. The c5 would eat a 928 for breakfast now!
In regards to pricing.......
Does the Corvette market bottom out in Decmber or January or?

This is a great time to buy, especially a vert. I started looking for mine a year ago this month and generally speaking, prices are a bit softer in the Winter months, but it really depends on what part of the country you're in. Good luck. You're gonna love it.

They are kinda like Boats up here, the crappier the weather, the cheaper they are. So during the winter, not to many for sale. Might check out a "Corvette & Chevy" Autotrader for more insight.
Given the area you live in, there's not going to be much, if any, seasonal price difference. There's always a ton of nice C5's for sale in the valley. Good luck with your search.
WATCH E-BAY!!!!!! I bought a beautiful '04 MN6 with 30 K miles a week ago for $28K, and I continue to see similar, and in some cases better deals, one was buy it now for $27.5!!!! I was going to buy in the spring, glad I didn't. And with La nina/ global warming, I've had beautiful snow free weather here in VA, and been driving the crap outta it!!!

If you live in a state that has a winter season, then December/January/February are good months to buy. As it gets closer to March, the prices tend to go up around here since the better weather are right around the corner. Sometimes buying in December can also get you a better deal since sellers can avoid paying personal property taxes on the car if they get rid of it before January 1.

IMO the best time to buy any sportscar is in Aug/Sept. Not too much of a market for these cars in winter climes. But I am just speaking from a Canadian POV, it could be just the opposite or not at all in the warmer places in the good ol' US of A. Good luck to ya!

A lot of people will probably frown upon my strategy, but it worked for me. I combed through Auto Trader and Cars.com, setting a certain distance that I'd go. Then, I sent e-mail to each of the sellers, telling them that I was very interested in their car, but could only offer them two or three grand less than their asking price, but that I could close the deal immediately, as in, the next day if they wanted. Most were ignored, but I heard back from a few sellers, which told me they were at least willing to negotiate and obviously serious about unloading their car for one reason or another. I wound up buying my '02 vert locally for the same as what a dealer would have given the seller as a trade in. Plus, I got to assume his zero dedutible GMPP warranty, which has saved me a lot of serious $$$$ so far.

The Monk!
There appear to be more sportscars/bikes/boats on the market then because people dump their summer toys to avoid storage. By late winter they're more willing to wait for summer pricing.
I can't immagine that you'll see much of a winter price where you live.
Just my opinion, but I think the best time to buy is when you find the one you really want. To me the pricing cycle isn't as critical as finding the right color in the right condition with the right number of miles. Good luck.
I drove 700 miles to pick up my 1998 Vert, on October 1 of this year. I had been looking for months on Auto Trader and was will to travel to get what I wanted. Absolutely flawless, red/black top vert, auto, 35,000 miles. Had a grin on my face all the way home. Paid 23,500.
I just bought my 2002 Z06 about 4 weeks ago, with 24k miles on it, and it already had some nice mods done to it, I did have to drive 1200 miles to it, then 1200 with it to get back home, but I was very happy with the price and the deal.
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
