I would order the car with the BSM as the cost is about and 85 dollar option, should you decide later that you dont care for them you can take them off, if you decide you want them after you get the car, you will have to order the part, arrange for painting (and hope they match) and then pay for installation, total cost this way is about 400 bucks, been there, done that.
I have had my car about 5 months now with the BSM on it. Does anyone know if I take them off now will it be noticeable??? The car has spent minimal time in the sun and it is yellow. I am debating removing them now....
Before buying my Z, I had been thinking about buying a C5 one for years. My buddy called from his dealership and they had my car on the lot. It does not have BSMs. I was let down but bought the car anyways. Now I am glad I don't have them.
As mentioned above, some like it and some don't. Go with your personal preference.

Of course it's just a guess, but I would think you'd be safe in removing them now. The only real concern is whether the exposed paint has faded enough to make the removal noticeable, and I don't think a few months, with minimal exposure to sun, would be enough to fade the paint. Just my .02.
If you don't have them, it will be sad day when some inconsiderate SOB decides to open his door a bit harder than usual on your beautiful baby.
DEFINITELY agree!! Some SOB dinged my '00 MY Coupe. I will always get the BSMs. I touched up the BSM and it didn't look too bad. If it would've been the actual door that was dinged, I could've been out more $$$. I look at it this way: It's easier and cheaper to take a ding with the BSMs and like a few have stated, if you do not like 'em just take 'em off. It couldn't hurt your re-sale value either. If someone doesn't like 'em, they can just take 'em off. If they want them, but you did not get them, then they will have to pay $400+ instead of the measily $75 it would've cost the original owner if he/she would've gotten them from the factory. Of course this is just my opinion which means jack poopie. Do what makes ya happy!

It should be OK. My car had a little over 7,000mi on it when I removed my BSMs and my paint looked fine. As far as the original post goes. I think you should get them. That way if you like them you have em, and it only cost you $75 bucks. If you dislike them (like me) then it is easier (and cheaper) to remove them than to install them.
