I work in Fargo, ND, where by now we usually have a ton of snow and ice covered roads. We have neither now. Yesterday, while in the middle of a conference call, I turned my chair to look out my north window, and across the street in a parking lot was a torch red C5. Let's see...what was the topic of that call? I totally lost all concentration and all I could think about was my Vette sitting at home, covered and on a battery tender waiting for April. If this continues, I think I will have to wake up the Vette and enjoy a Christmas ride! I envy those of you who get to drive year 'round. Happy Holidays to all of you! Dan
Usually mine is in hibernation by now too but just after Christmas, I have to take it to Bowling Green to go on display at the Museum. I'm excited as hell but will probably miss it for the month.
Dan - I was thinking the exact same thing - I'm driving around Fargo a lot during the week for work and realized the other day 'why did I even store the Vette this year?'
You know this area though - if you don't like the weather...wait an hour - I've left on drives before and had the weather go south on me before I even got back home!

Mine's up for the winter too, but today I'm going to go out in the garage and put a nice coat of wax on the C5. Not the same as driving it, but better than nothing.
Not that it will make you feel any better but I still drive mine everyday.
J/K. I'll bet it sucks that you have to put the Vette away for a few months. I hope I don't ever have to live in an area where I would have to start doing that. Hang in there.
We up in the midwest must an alot of low mileage vettes, mines been put away for a couple of months now, and when the snow is gone still only drive for 5 or 6 months...
Drove mine a bunch the past few weeks. When the roads are clear and the rain has washed the salt away, why not drive it? I paid too much to let it sit in the garage and be a mouse house.
We've got all your snow down here in Boulder/Denver. 28+" and 5' drifts. The vette's nice and snuggly warm in the garage. The Wrangler's the workhorse today!
until today, here in minnesota, it was snow/salt free... Only got 550 miles since the new DRM 427ci C5R motor was install... mid november, put her in the garage... i coulda had another month of driving!!! dangit..
but i don't miss her too bad, my daily driver is a MB E55, faster then a stock vette and handles like a dream, with all the luxury in the world!
Drive it down here, you know the drill. Barrett-Jackson is just a couple of weeks away! Happy holidays to you my friend!
Hey, Randy: I was going to make some smart remark about you there in Phoenix, but I figured you would find your way to post a note! Was at the local dealership today and looked at a used C5 black/black vert and thought of you. I did take the cover off my Vette tonight and got inside for awhile. Boy, do I miss it! If the weather stays nice into the weekend, I'm taking mine out of the garage for a spin!! Merry Christmas! Dan
