Default Storage Question

Hey experts...got a question. My C5 is in the garage, washed, waxed, and under it's blanket for the winter. The problem is, our garage is set up with hot soft water and a drain, so my husband on occasion washes his truck in there. It's cold in Indiana of course, for a couple of days it's damp in the garage after that. How detrimental is this to my vette? Should I uncover it? (The garage is large enough that the cover does NOT get splashed.) BTW...Merry Christmas everyone.

I would uncover it, I just use old sheets on mine, cause it's in a garage anyway....

Why uncover it? Keep it covered, there should be no problem. A blanket cannot keep moisture in.

Any problem with frame? Should I buy a dehumidifier? Maybe just build a garage specifically to store the vette in? (yeah, right)

None at all. YOu are way over reacting here.

Your Corvette was made for outdoor use, it can handle it...

Merry Christmas

I wouldn't worry about it. You should be just fine with the cover still on the car.

Whoops, I didn't realize where you were going.

I can delete that last reply and replace it with one more like this:

The washing of another vehicle in the presence of a Corvette in any building smaller than 10,000 square feet can cause harm to the Corvette. This is espcailly problematic during winter months where the humidity in the garage from the washing of other vehicles can cause undue harm to the Corvette

In instances where this must be done most Corvette owners would then start preparring a new living quarters for the Corvette.

I would suggest in your case a seperate garage for the Corvette, perferably heated and with a lounge area and bar.
