Default Any difference?

Is there a difference sound on ZO6 exhaust versus a non ZO6 stock exhaust for the C5's?

It sounds a little more agressive but not much unless you get headers.

The Z06 are made of titanium, the stock are made of stainless steel. The ti's are a bit lighter in weight, a bit louder in sound.
But quieter that just about every aftermarket performance exhaust.

Do you think it would be worth buying a used set of ZO6 Ti's for $450 or buying a new set of aftermarket exhaust? I am not sure what new sets run..

Depends on the sound you're looking for. The stock Ti Z06 exhaust is quiet at idle, quiet at cruise, but gets a little louder during acceleration, and particularily during wide open throttle. It is definitely louder than the stock C5 exhaust, but not by much.

Personally, I think it's too quiet and that's why I'm replacing it with B&B bullets. That said, many prefer the stock Ti Z06 exhaust when hooked up to a set of long tube headers, x-pipe, etc. because they find an aftermarket exhaust to be too loud. It's all about personal preference.

Yes, it does sound deeper and a little louder than the stock coupe or vert exhaust. A set of aftermarket catbacks can run you anywhere from $600-1000 or more. Just depends on what you are looking for in terms of sound and visual appeal. The Ti exhaust will be lighter than the other catbacks unless you go with something like no mufflers.

What you should do is try and find Corvette owners who have different exhausts on their car and hear them for yourself. Also find a Z06 owner that has the factory exhaust still on the car. Then you can make a good decision.

Just bought this car and it has just been changed over from stock, to TI. Sorry, I haven't heard it yet, won't be here until January 15th.

I asked Alan, how they sounded and was he happy with the change. He was and this was his reply to me.

"The TI exhaust made a small change in the sound, not too loud, but does sound good."

Hope that helps.
