Just a thought! I ordered splash guards from Ecklers with a gift certificate and I thought all forum vendors gave a 10% discount? I guess not because they said no. Also the price in the catalog was $70, which is the new catalog, but I paid $77. No big deal, but I just wanted to mention this.

No, not all forum vendors give a 10% discount. Wish they did. Seems strange that you paid $7 more than the catalog price - might want to question them on that.

Sounds like a 10% surcharge rather than a discount.

Could be due to a loss of business due to poor customer service which in turn has resulted in lost sales, i.e. lower profit margins.

Or they could be adding in a surcharge to compensate for moving their annual show from their home base location over to Kissimmee where the NCRS shows occur at Old Towne.

The extra $7 was for shipping and handling, correct?

NO, they said the price went up since they printed the latest catalog, which is fall/winter.

Corvette Forum Members always get a discount from me, if that's any consolation

Went there on 12/27 parted with $41. Most items were out of stock or discontinued with no replacement available at this time syndrome. I am starting to wonder if their purchasing dept. is in need of an overhaul.
As far as their pricing goes I can see an item or two in the catologue being incorrect but too many people are complaining about the same thing with increases.I think I will be placing orders with other vendors who at least seem to appreciate our business.

Word of advice... this is the era of the internet where companies are forced to be much more competitive. I can't think of the last time I purchased any car parts from an actual 'land' store. Buy online where there are no rent bills, employee wages to be paid, etc. Check out the auction sites and classifieds. I don't think I've EVER paid retail for anything.

FORCE stores to compete and we all win. Prices will drop, customer service will improve. If not, they won't get any business and will be forced to close down. Let the market run it's course and we all win.

We price our stuff at a discount from the start.

So after I order my spashguards from Ecklers for higher price then the catalog, I get an email stating they are giving a 10% discount two days after I ordered. I emailed my opinion to them.
