Default tire warm up?

i am a new vette owner in Houston Texas and it does not get very cold down here. this morning it was close to freezing and the tires were all about 24-25psig. two of the four had tripped the DIC. i reset the DIC and looked at them. they looked ok. i drove the 30 odd miles to work and they quickly warmed up to about 27psig. by the time i got to work they were at the "usual" 29-30 psig. when i got off work it was in the 60's and the tires all read about 27-29psig.

i just wanted to know if this is normal and is it safe to run them like this.
i am use to trucks and the 285-75R16 tires i run on my truck don't seem to do this. is it a product of such a small tire? i would hate to air up and down tires just to compensate for the temp. but maybe this is what i need to do?

thanks,
hk

Yep, that's what usually happens when the temp drops. Best thing is to inflate to the proper 30psi when outside temps are 60's or so before driving, then when the temps drop you may get the low pressure message for the first mile or so but no biggie. Or you can inflate to about 32 psi so you don't get the low pressure message and go back to the normal 30 psi in the spring. Mine are at 33 for winter.

I keep them 30 cold ALL year long. If I remember right for every 7 degrees +or - in air temp, you have a 1 lb pressure change.

The pressure in my tires drop when the temp goes down. I just check them frequently to ensure I have the proper pressure in them.

Put 30 psi in them, cold. It's in the owners manual.

Don't trust a visual inspection for proper inflation.

Its normal. And if you have runflats and you meant you visually looked at the tires to see if any appeared low, they never will. Even with 0 air pressure they will look fine.
