Default Heater not working - need advice

I live in Florida and rarely need the heater, but that isn't really the point

I recently got this Corvette and the A/C wasn't blowing cold (dual climate control unit). On top of that, it was blowing cooler on the passenger side than the driver side, although neither were cold enough. I also had the dreaded two HVAC codes indicating an actuator issue.

So I searched and researched and ending up do the actuator re-indexing (a job I will NOT attempt again), which cleared the codes and seems to have worked, as the temperature on both sides of the car is the same. However, it still wasn't blowing cold enough, so I added some freon (which was low according to my guage) and that seemed to fix the problem. Cold air - yeehaw!

However, it's only a half-yeehaw, as my heater will not blow hot air even with the temperature on the maximum setting - it seems to be vent air only. I can't imagine heater core issues on this car (43K miles), but it's always possible. Any advice you can give me on what I could check would be great.

I have cleaned the battery and also had it checked - it is good.

The coolant constantly runs through the heater core so either the heater is plugged, the actuators are still not working correctly, or somebody bypassed your heater core or clamped off one of the hoses. One way to get the AC to cool better.

I had the hot air out of the driver's side and cold air out of the passenger side in our dual zone a/c when we bought our 97 this past August. I disconnected the battery overnight so the system could reset and it has been working perfectly ever since! BTW, most times, adding r134A isn't the answer unless you know for certain that it's low.
