My brother has it on an Accura RSX. He used 35% on the front. If he didnt tell you, you wouldnt know its there. The benefit of it is that it makes all your other tint appear darker. I know that it is not legal in NC, dont know about other states. In NC, you can only tint the top 6" or so.
I've had it tinted on my last 3 vehicles, I wouldn't suggest any darker than 35%, not as hard to see out of at night as you may think and also helps with glares in daytime.
My neighbor has a Trans Am that was tinted all the way around. Black on Black with dark tint, including the windshield. Looked really bad a**, but he said he could hardly go from one point to another (during the day) without getting stoped.
Depends on how much of hassle you want to deal with in the everyday world.

Just for the record. Due to federal and state regulations, aftermarket tint is not allowed on the entire windshield in any state except Ohio and North Dakota which allow 70%.
A band of tint not to exceed 3" - 6" (depending on the state) or below the AS1 line (a line printed into all windshields) is allowed in most states.
I've seen another car done like this at the tint shop, looked good! Quite interesting, don't know if I'd do it myself but on a black car it might look real good!
Have to do this though! It wont be legal and if you get stopped for it for some reason they may not allow you to drive it home!
Looks real good, almost did it on mine, but I figured the 5% all the way around would be enough. What I dont understand about it is, motorcyclists are allowed to wear visors that are tinted, some waaaaay darker then 35%, albeit at night it's not legal, but people dont criticize them for wearing tinted visors

Probably because the intelligent ones don't wear tinted visors at night. Even the ones that do have the simple option of flipping it up in a matter of seconds.
It's not daytime issues with aftermarket windshield tint, its night vision issues. Thats why they invented sunglasses or "portable tint" as it were.

you can change a visor out in 2min on every helmet I've owned, let's see you do that with a windshield.
I had the whole front windshield tinted on my 92 Mustang GT. The top was a tint strip like everyone thinks when tinting the front. But the rest was also tinted with a 80% or 90% film. I did it to protect the inside of the car from UV rays. The film was almost clear.
