Default Kooks header question

Iam considering buying the kooks headers and x-pipe with cats. Should I get the 1 3/4 or 1 7/8? My 03 z06 is stock except for a Blackwing. The x-pipe 3x 2 1/2 or 3 x 3? Thanks Brian

1 3/4" is good for you...the larger tubes would be good for larger head\cam engines and be overkill unless you plan some major changes...the Kooks I had were 3"x3" on the X-pipe...the only issue is I had to jack the motor up on each side to get them in...other brands go right in without this...but, they are very nice headers...

The LG street headers are about $200 less. Are the Kooks worth the extra cash?

to be honest- I am looking at the streets for my 01 Z06...the difference lies in the X pipe size (smaller on the streets) and I also understand that the streets clamps are not the best to seal up the joints (most have bought wider band clamps or welded the joints) the streets are said to go right in (meaning no engine jacking)

the end result, they all claim roughly the same HP gains with the LG Pros being higher...and the new American Racing headers running up there as well...

For the price- the streets seem like the way to go!

I agree with the 1 3/4 Kooks, I have heard only good about that brand name, with more supposide HP gaind then any of them, that's my .02

A while back I thought I read a thread where a guy installed 1 3/4" AR headers on a relatively stock Z06 and tried both the 3x3 and the 3x2.5 xpipes and made more power with the 3x2.5...

Maybe someone else will jump in or try calling Vette Dr's and asking them.
