Sorry dude, good luck fixing her and don't let your gf drive anymore!!
This is INCORRECT.

If he had no collision coverage in effect and his GF has a policy on her own car and she has collision coverage, that policy would pay for the damage subject to any deductible. It could be argued this was a Temporary Substitute Automobile depending on why the GF was using it.

However, I have another question. Why would you let anyone drive your car knowing you had no insurance on it? Both you and your girlfriend are idiots. You for LETTING her drive an uninsured car, and her for DOING it!

Oh yes---Don't forget to get insurance for your car, too. Ya know, it is against the law here in Illinois to drive w/o it.

Best thing you could do right now is put the car in the Forum "For Sale" section and let someone who (a) could fix it (b) knew better than to get a pantload of tickets (c) wouldn't drive it or let others drive it uninsured (d) kept up with the status of their driver's licence (e) kept up with the status of their insurance.

Take public transportation. In the long run it'll be better for you and certainly better for everyone else on the highway.

I hate to sound like a old grey beard a$$hole here, but the biggest thing you need to get is some maturity and responsibility. I think this is at least the second thread that you've started that shows someone else at fault damaging your car. I know there was one where you stopped in the middle of the road to talk to some "hot chick" and one of your friends skidded and sideswiped you.

Now you tell us your insurance was cancelled because of your driving record and you didn't know it? AND.......your license was suspended (or you THOUGHT it was because of your driving record?)

You need to grow up and become much more responsible if you're going to drive a high performance sportscar. With a cancelled insurance policy, lots of tickets, a suspended license, you're under 21 and at least two accidents, who in their right mind would write an insurance policy on you with a Corvette, for any amount? You're worried about high premiums? If I were you I'd worry about being able to get insurance at all.

If you have a lein against the title on that car (in other words you owe money on it) you have to carry comprehensive and collision to protect the leinholder's financial interest in this vehicle. So you cannot just get away with minimum liability limits from some high risk carrier.

I'm not going to call you an idiot - but I am going to say that you are immature and irresponsible. Until such time that you grow up - get rid of that car, and buy yourself some P.O.S. that you can buy outright, carry liability only on - and won't get you into trouble with the LEO's.

Oh and BTW - you never did say what your GF hit and what kind of damage was done to that. I asked that in my first post in this thread.....

nice to see someone not call the guy an idiot. I'm sure we all have done some pretty idiotic things when we were younger and we all grew and learned from them, sometimes you just have to learn the hard way. Shoot I sound old, I'm just 25, but I'm futunate enough to not have any tickets on my record and only one accident back in middle school. (until now, just got hit in my vette). But still, Good luck getting it fixed and learn from it.

IMHO, what the h*ll are you doin driving a vette in the upper midwest this time of the year. Having a vette as a DD in this part of the world lacks a certain amount of judgement in and of itself. Just my .02.

Some people (myself included) only learn from the hard lessons of life. Good luck, at least you're alive and no one else was harmed in the making of this thread...
