Yes, yes, I know. They're $5995 all over the place.
But that's just the start. What about injectors, tunes, fuel pumps and installation? How much is the drive out the door price for a procharger, or the rear mount twin turbo? (Don't want the Magna-charger. Not going to change my hood).
For a very nice turn-key that is "right" figure about $8-8.5k out the door for a blower or an STS setup. That's on your stock engine, of course. That does not include drivetrain upgrades. As with any mod program, I would have a bit in reserve for those unexpected expenses/upgrades.
Call Chris at (ECS) East Coast Supercharging. They formally used ATI supercharger head units, now they use Paxton. The ECS kit is custom made for the C5. Installed and tuned you will be below $10k and have 500+ HP at the rear wheels

The Vette Doctors are running a Procharger special including installation and tuning. Give them a call at (631) 841-0779 or visit them at www.thevettedoctors.com

Budget for circa $10,000 installed and tuned (assuming you do not add any "extras" at the same time like new torque converter, gears, methanol injection, 8rib pulleys etc. etc.)

and it's good to have a bit extra just in case, you need to start thinking about upgrading other things like Tranny/Driveline etc... to handle all that new extra power. Not sure of your driving style, but always good to think ahead.
Good luck

my Maggie plus hood and paint was out the door just under $13K
FWIW I have the MCM hood and added Torch Red accent to it...
Go with either A&A or ECS kits (price on their websites);
Dual gauge a piller- 70
Boost and fuel pressure gauge- range of 100 to 650 depending on your choice
Local tune- 400
Installation- 1500
Bottom line you can check around locally for an installer to quote you a price on install and tune. The prices I have listed for the install and tune could be much less or even much more.
With either kit above all you need is the gauges and a pod to put them in, in addition to the install and tune.
Then you might want to add;
Meth kit
New tranny
Forged LSx block
Let Mod fever continue.....

As a FYI - Boost gauge is cheap (circa $50) but the fuel pressure gauge is circa $150 upwards. You will not get a dual pillar mount plus boost & fuel pressure gauges for less than $250 absolute minimum....
To anyone thinking about adding a "power adder" - supercharger, turbocharger or nitrous oxide. Give it a fair bit of thought before you do.
You are adding 200 to 300bhp to a system that was never designed by GM for that load. You have to beef up a lot of parts to make sure that you have a 100% reliable system. Parts like fuel delivery system, monitoring system, etc. Do not skimp on the ancillary parts unless you only want a very moderate increase - say 400rwhp (stock is circa 300rwhp). But even at 400rwhp - you are adding 150bhp... think about that...

That's exactly what I'm talking about. Since I have an A4, do I need to harden the transmission? A new torque converter? A differential brace?
I want the extra ponies, but I don't want something that's going to break on me two hours after I install it.

Keep an eye out for an announcement coming from Gulf Coast Performance. Soon, hopefully. In the testing phases now.

With an automatic you do not "need" the brace, like the manual guys do. A transmission cooler is an absolute MUST. A smaller torque converter is not needed, it's simply going to be another upgrade you can consider.
Running this much extra power on a stock automatic, is quite a bit of added stress. Plan in the future to have to upgrade to a RPM Transmission.
While reading through this thread I don't recall seeing any mention of exhaust system upgrades. This must be a consideration since an automobile engine may be basically considered an air pump. If you are going to spend approximately $10K feeding extra air into the engine, all that extra air must be able to exit the engine to receive maximum benefit for your expenditures. Installing a free-breathing exhaust system will have to be added to the equation. Oops! There goes the old wallet!

Buy a Z06!
"In general" - assume that all the bolt ons have been done before you install a supercharger if you want max power on a stock bottom end.
If you are just shooting for 425-450rwhp, no bolt ons are needed.
