I've had it on since around 8am. There was a sixtysomething Vette that was one of the ten highest bids this morning.

My GF cannot understand why I watch the replay if I was there last year. But watching Rachel Ray cook the same dishes is perfectly OK for her.
Go figure.

Tuned in for a little while earlier today. I remember seeing the show before though. May watch it later if the football gets boring.

Is it true that the cars auctioned off do not have a reserve? So if someone spent $$$ restoring a 63 split window coupe for $60k and someone offers $45k, is the seller obligated to sell the car?

I would suspect unless the seller is desperate to sell, the caliber of cars is going to decline overtime.

This years auction starts 1/16/07 (tues.)- 1/21/07, "The last Stingray", AKA "The last '67" is set to go on the block 1/20 (sat.) If I heard the promo right. Good inside info in current "Corvette & Chevy" trader, Proteam Corvettes would like to see $1.2M.

I think I've seen it all at least three times already, but then again just about anything beats the endless Nascar stuff they usually run.

How do you think my father-in-law feels. He traded his 68 Shelby GT500 KR for a VW Rabbit.

Even it if is "last years show" it makes for some good classic car watching.

I can only take about 5 minutes of that annoying auctioneer though.
And some of the chimpanzee-like screaming of some of those "working" the bidders gets to me as well, to the point I then flip the mute button on and drool in silence.

True-all cars there are no reserve. A seller's only option would be to bid himself, in which case he pays 12% on each side of the transaction.

I think billing the auction as "no reserve" gives the bidders the illusion that there are great deals to be had. But if you watch the broadcasts, IMO true bargains are few and far between. Actually, I think there are better buys at B-J Palm Beach, where there are fewer bidders.
