Maybe one of the members who worked on the engineering of the C5 [ we have a few ] or someone who has been through this can give me some advice....When I bought my C5 a little over 2 years ago, the windshield washer pump seemd to work only some of the time. Pulled the pump and checked the electics...It got full volts with every tap of the switch, and a new pump fixed it 100 percent. Now I have been having a similar symptom of intermitent washer pump operation, and checked the voltage at the pump. This time not so lucky...dead as the proverbial door-nail. Checked the fuse...It Ohms out OK. So where should I go next? Is the washer pump conventionally wired, or operated by computer BCM? Is the next likely item to have failed the contactor in the end of the wiper wand? or some other item, such a time-out relay?? I'm really at a loss here and need some help to get this fixed. If this a typical problem with a typical solution, I would like to save time and go there first. Beyond that, any further diagnostic assistance would be appreciated.
Mine don't work either. I found that out by accident, as I generally never use them, but it just adds one more thing to my list of things to take care of with this car.
Hi Jennifer,
I think I would suggest looking around under your battery compartment, just to ensure that your car was not one of the ones that were hit by a leaky battery. Assuming that checks out OK, you'll need to start tracing the circuit to see where you're losing power.

There is nothing wrong with any of the wiring or mechanicals under/around the battery. There was no evidence of my car ever having a battery leak prior to my ownership, nor since my ownership.
I was hoping that some of the members might have been through this problem, and could report what the fix was. I have had a bad pump when I bought the car, but this failure is different, the pump is fine. My guess is the the push switch is going to end up being the culprit, but before going further, I will dig up the full schematic and follow the curcuit. Lots of work to take all the panels off and break in on the wire bundles and connectors to test.
