I saw a post stating the MOD RED was an option.

Does this meant that someone actually had to request this thing??

Yes, that's pretty much what an option is, an option to have or NOT to have.

Mag Red and Mel Yel was a $500 option in 2000 because they are color coat (NOT clear coat).

Yes, mod red was an option and IMO, a great color combination for the C5. Different tastes for different folks I guess.

I hate mod red too..

I actually passed up an 02 Z06 w/ slightly lower miles that was priced almost the same as my 01 when i bought my 01 because of it..

I ordered my '02, and could have had any interior color offered, but didn't like the amount of black that was used when ordering a color other than black. If the whole interior was "color" ,Red would look great! Red & Black, not so great. IMHO

I LOVE the mod red. If anyone has it that doesn't like it, I'll trade my flawless black interior for it. Only 9500 miles worth of use. No sunlight and conditioned once a month.
