B&BRoute66 upgrade?
I'm close to buying used B&B Route 66 exhaust for now. Later adding headers and x-pipe will the Route 66 help in keeping the drone down. Will also put in tunnel cover insulation with additional mod's. I would like any feedback, not looking for any hp just a different sound and look than stock. Thanks

I have the Route 66 exhaust on my car now and when I first bought it it had a lot of drone in 6th gear and lots of popping when decelerating. I finally ended up putting an X-pipe on the car and that took about 95% of the drone and popping out of the exhaust. You may find that by just adding the catback that you have the same problem. If so, the X-pipe should help. As far as adding headers to the mix, I don't know since I do not have them on my car.
I have B&B Rt. 66's with a Borla X-pipe. At cruising speed (~ 70 mph) I have just a VERY, VERY slight drone that I actually like. I have driven for hours at a time and it's not bothersome. It doesn't cause vibration or prevent normal conversation. I listen to music continuously EXCEPT in the car because I really ENJOY listening to the car so much.
Another part of the equation is your intake. I installed a Vortex with a Powerduct and VR velocity stack BEFORE I installed the exhaust. I noticed a slight change in exhaust note with the Stock system; so I'm sure the intake effect coupled with what x-pipe or y-pipe you have...determines if you have drone or no drone with the same exhaust from car to car.

I have the B&B Rt66 with an MN6 and its been great. I never noticed any drone problems, but I like motor sounds so maybe its just me. Mine is oval tips and I really like the look. Its not too noticeable when tooling around but when you get on it, it sounds great.

Same setup for me and it was on the car when I bought it. I notice a slight drone in 6th gear at 1800 RPM. Solution: I use 5th on the highway w/ the RPM's at about 2k. It's fine then and mileage does not seem to be effected much. Other than that it sounds just right. Some have said that an X Pipe may solve my drone problem.

I always have radio on in my DD but also don't listen to music in my FRC. Like the sound of the Rt. 66's over any music.
I have the 66's w/oval tips also. With headers they sound really nice. Now that the cam is in, The 66''s sound great!
I had the 66's with LT's, off road X, cam, etc., sounded SWEET, almost Exotic! Now I have Corsa Indy's and sounds like a Friggin Race Car . Still have the 66's just in case I want to switch back to em
