Default This seem right?

I went to a bodyshop today to look at getting my corvette front bumper, hood, side rockers, and rear bumper repainted due to sand blasting and rock chips and they quoted me @ $1692. Now my insurance tells me they will cover this because it is covered underneath my comprehensive damage or whatever it is. Should I pull the trigger only thing is my deductible is $1000 I should really lower that.

Default Rule of thumb---

For me, being an ex insurance claim adjuster---anytime your deductible ($1,000) exceeds what the insurance company will pay ($692)---be careful. Enough comprehensive claims (even though you are considered "not at fault") and your premiums could increase. Just my .02.

Interesting that they will cover it under your comprehensive. Never knew they would cover rock chips like that.

I had a black Saleen Mustang and got hit by a windstorm on Power tour and I filed a claim for the front bumper and hood and the adjuster noticed small chips all over the car they paid for all new glass, mirrors, mouldings, paint and stickers. It came to over 6K and the car barely looked damaged!!!!

Something doesn't sound right about that to me either. These chips seem to be normal wear and tear unless there is more to this story that isn't being detailed?

yes it would be covered I have asked my agent over and over again and she has always told me that it would and my premium would not go up either. she said thats where it would fall underneath. so yea i'm going to go ahead with this and get it taken care of. after 9 years of it being sand blasted and rock chips its time for it to be renewed.
