Glad to here that your OK. Hopefully the vette is repaired quickly and you can get back out on the road.
How bad did you skin up the tree? If it's not illegal, maybe you can cut it down and burn it. Ok... OK... Ok... Just kidding about the tree. I don't want to upset our Arbor Day Foundation friends, just want to give you a laugh on a bad day.

Sorry to hear of your accident. Thank goodness you're unhurt. I feel for you - it's a tough thing to go through. You'll fix it as good as new and move on, I'm sure. Best of luck in the repairs.
Well, today at about 11:30 I had my first wreck. It had rained earlier today but when I left the road did not seem to be that wet, but I guess looks are deceiving. I was doing about 50 and slowed down to about 35-40 to take a not so bad turn when it all happened. The back end slid a little and when I tried to correct it I sent the other side off the road into the grass. I slid sideways for awhile and was eventually slowed down by about 3 or 4 trees that also removed the rear end of my car. After hitting one tree pretty hard the car bounced back onto the road as I was still trying to turn towards the road which made the car slide across the road and into a field. Thankfully, I missed a telephone pole by about 5 feet, and the edge of a pond by about 7. It didnt seem real as I got out of the car, and I was telling myself that I didnt hit anything and all that happend was that I slid in the grass. But upon seeing that the rear end had all but fallen off, both tailight assemblies on the passanger side where gone, half the trunk was chipped away, the mufflers were touching the ground and that the wheel well had split, it became very real. I thanked God that I was alive and without a scratch, then sat in the mud and cried. I dont think its totaled or that it will even be all that bad to fix, but it just kind of sucks to see your car all tore up. So take it from me guys, watch your speed on a wet road even if it doesnt seem all that wet.
Sorry to hear about you bad luck. Can you tell us what type of tires you had on at the time of the accident? Original runflats or something else?
Glad to hear you are ok! These cars seem to hold up well. I was hit by a semi a few weeks ago and all I can say is GM did a GREAT job with safety when they made this car.
Very sorry to hear about this. I know what its like to wreck a car you love.
Just wondering, do you have Active Handling? You mentioned Traction Control was on, but if you also had Active Handling, and it was engaged, it shouldn't have let you spin out like that.

It's a '98 so no AH... this was one time it would've helped - assuming it was working.
