I don't know, but I bet my wife that she was wrong about a sign that someone was holding up on Good Morning America this morning and got a free lunch out of it.

Be sure and take it to the scale with an almost empty tank. At least you may have a sporting chance that way.

I have no idea what my vert weighs.

NCM website for 2002...I'm sure there is not any difference (marginal at best) between an '02 and an '04. '02 vert weighs in at 3248 lbs.

The sticker on the door should have vehicle weight...

What is the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR)?

Simply put, it's how much weight your vehicle is designed to carry. The GVWR includes the net weight of the vehicle, plus the weight of passengers, fuel, cargo and any accessories added to the vehicle after purchase. The GVWR is a safety standard used to prevent overloading.

I think you may win especially if it is empty......

That is what it is 'supposedly' limited to weighing fully loaded, not the weight of the vehicle.

A gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) is the maximum allowable total weight of a road vehicle that is loaded to capacity, including the weight of the vehicle itself plus fuel, passengers, cargo, and other miscellaneous items such as extra aftermarket parts. In the United States, two important GVWR numbers are 6,000 pounds (2,721 kg) and 8,500 pounds (3,856 kg). Vehicles over 6,000 pounds are restricted from many city roadways (though there is some dispute about whether this restriction is for actual weight or GVWR), and vehicles over 8,500 pounds do not have to display EPA estimated fuel mileage or a Monroney sticker nor are they subject to state emissions testing.

I can tell you the gross vehicle weight of a 2000 convertible is 3685 lbs. (It's noted on the door jam)

Correct it is a rating based on passangers/cargo/full tank. Therefore if it is low on fuel and no people in it should have no problem being under 3500.

Just make sure you lift your fat *** out of the car before it's weighed and you'll be fine.

Finally we have a winner. GVWR is not what the vehicle weighs. Empty tank and you out of the car = he's paying

Curb weight of 3210# is base model with no options and includes a full tank of fuel, . Add weight of any options and drive off your fuel in a fun-type manner. You should win.
