Default General Tire Questions

Well the runflats have about 24k on them, and it looks like I am going with stock coupe sized Nitto 555s. The BFG KDW2 seems solid, but I dont know if I am comfortable changing sizes.

Does anyone have advice on running a 255/40 r17 and 285/35 r 18 as opposed to stock sizes?

Secondly, I am having my tires shipped to my home and then dropping them off to the shop with my car to get them put on. Do I have to purchase new TPM sensors, or is there any issues with the on board comp as long as I stick with stock rims?

The tire pressure monitors are attached to your stock rims.
You can leave them in the rims and swap tires without any issue.
Sometimes the tire shop will prefer to temporarily remove them (so not to break them) while unmounting the old tire and mounting the new tire.
Just make sure they go back on the original corner of the vehicle or you will have to reprogram them.

Your sensors would work with different size rims too as long as the rims are machined to accept the sensors. My sensors worked just fine with a 19/20 wheel combo. But, I agree with rws.1 about making sure they put the sensors back on the same corner they came from or you will need to reprogram them all.

Your sensors are part of the valve stems. Just re-use them. (You could do this even if you change wheels, let alone just changing tires.) [Older C5's had them physically attached to the wheel.]

As for your tire size thoughts, those sizes would be fine on your OEM rims.

A C5 Z06 comes with wheels that are 1" wider than yours and they run 265/40x17 and 295/35x18. Just a notch up from what you are thinking of. Your wheels being 1" narrower and your size suggestions being a notch more narrow also, should be fine.

Of course, this is a great opportunity to buy new wheels too and step up in size, of course if it's in your budget...
Good Luck and Have Fun.
