Squeaky Belt, suggestions ??
First time I've noticed this with my car (2000 A4), but one of the belts (I assume) under the hood started squeaking yesterday. I can hear it in park, but it's much more noticeable when in gear. It sounds just like a cricket! 
Is this a common issue? And this may be a dumb question, but is it okay to spray WD-40 on/near the belts?

You have 2 belts. The large serpentine belt and the small A/C belt. You can try a little WD-40 on the belt to see if the chirp stops. If it does, then you know it's the belt. If it doesn't, then it's probably one of the tensioners or idlers that probably have some bearings gone bad. I wouldn't think WD-40 would last for a while, but the chirp would eventually come back. If you find out it's the belt, go with the goodyear gatorbacks. They're the best.
