Default Wheel Opinion.......

I have the HRE wheels pictured & was thinking of going to the Z16 wheels instead. I also have the original Z wheels, but dont like the grey color.

If you want to sell the stock Z06 wheels (providing they are straight) keep me in mind...

The HRE's are beautiful and make the car stand out, there are tons of red Z's with Chrome/polished Z wheels. Why would you want to take the HRE's off??

I'd say just lower your car a little, and call it good. Of course, you can sell those HRE's and buy your Z16 wheels, and have enough $$$ left over to put in a Lingenfelter 427.

Have someone local polish your stockers and go from there, instant Z16 without selling/buying and having all that shipping to mess with. If you don't like them you can sell them and get HREs or something else(I prefur CCWs, even if price was equal)

I already lowered the car on stock bolts. Dont want to go lower, everything scrapes & I hate it. As far as having money left over for mods, thats what I was thinking. I want some longtube hedders.

I thought about getting red Ronals.....just these HRE's came up for sale & I couldnt resist. I had some Motorsports on my 94 convertable.......got them from a forum vendor. Long story short, they were made in China & I could never get them to balance properly. I sold them & vowed never get them.

Yipes. What don't you like about the HRE's? Most people would kill to have them. The Z-style wheels are a dime-a-dozen (though the larger size ones look good).

If you simply don't like the HRE's, why no sell them, throw your old Z wheels back on the car, and rethink exactly what you want to do? The HRE's should bring enough cash for you to think this out properly.

Me, I just wouldn't go from these wheels back to a stock (or stock-looking) wheel. The size looks too small these days, and, imo, they're very common.

Good luck!

I've called a local polisher and he was very hesitant to polish my stock Z06 wheels. He said the bare metal of the wheels was pretty raw/pourous before GM painted them and that they would require estensive polishing to make them look good. So much polishing, that it would be cost prohibitive. Any thoughts?

There's that company in Canada that does the machining/custom colors on the stock wheels that really look great. Panther is the name, I think.
