center console peeling - need suggestions please
My '04 Z06 center console is peeling alot, especially along the cupholder area and at the inside edge where the seatbelt buckle/clip is. Presume Z06 console is same as regular C5, right? Anybody know if peeling console is a warrantable item (my factory warranty is still intact)?
I don't want to take it in for warranty service if at all possible, so maybe an aftermarket carbon fiber would be swank, or leather? Painted black? Ideas and/or suggestions on where to get such a thing?
I checked Mid America but they only have adhesive covers. I'd prefer an entire new console instead.
Gotta love GM and their "sprayed on" textured vinyl...
If the center console was same material as dashboard that'd be great. I happen to like that texture/surface/material/whatever it is.

awesome! is that yours? did you install? was it hard to do?
that's really sharp. is it real carbon fiber or a look-a-like product? either way, it looks great. if i go with v.e. product, i'll probably install shifter boot and console cover too. they make really nice stuff (i've got custom door panel arm rests in there now).

I would try the warranty route first. I would think that they would cover that, but you just never know about dealers. Other than that, the one from VE would look very good.

The center console is covered by your 3/36 warranty. I had the one on my 03Z replaced when the cupholder cover came loose. Not sure why you don't want to use the warranty. You paid for it when you bought the car. Too many people are afraid to use their warranty.
